President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology. She is the Member of Parliament for the Korle Klottey constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Mahama Ayariga, Member of Parliament for the Bawku Central constituency in the Upper East Region has been nominated as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. He is also the Majority Leader in Parliament.
The statement said, “President John Dramani Mahama has, in accordance with Article 78(1), submitted the names of the following to Parliament, through the Speaker, for prior approval as Ministers of State.”
The President has also reassigned Kenneth Gilbert Adjei from the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources to the Ministry of Defence.
Ahmed Ibrahim is now heading to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources from the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
The statement was signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.
These appointments come at a time several sections of the Ghanaian public have clamoured for a ministerial reshuffling to inject fresh energies into the Mahama – Opoku-Agyeman administration.
