The University of Ghana Health Services Directorate has reported a resurgence of covid-19 cases in its immediate vicinity.
The Directorate in a statement dated 23rd June 2025, reported that it had recorded a few suspected and confirmed cases.
The statement – in view of the development -directed all staff, students and visitors to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection and community spread.
The health directorate reminded everyone to wear face masks properly, especially in crowded places. Frequent handwashing with soap or using hand sanitizers is strongly encouraged. Also, physical distancing of at least one meter should be maintained where possible and large gatherings should be avoided unless necessary.
Meanwhile, the Health Services Directorate has also reactivated its COVID-19 response protocols, including screening and triage measures at health facilities. It states that it is also monitoring the situation closely and will provide regular updates.
