The University of Cape Coast local branch of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana, has launched a Covid-19 campaign dubbed “kick-out-Covid-19”.
The campaign is to remind students of the existence of the virus and the need to prioritize their health.
Launching the campaign, Vice Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Prof. KamKam Boadu commended the leadership of the Association for their efforts in combating the virus on campus by implementing such a project.
“I think that education is key is whatever we do. We are so proud, Grasag for the initiative you have taken and creating awareness for people to come to terms with the fact that Covid-19 is still with us. So your initiative is very handy and welcomed. Let us not end it here, let us set it up so that our names can be written somewhere” he indicated.
On his part, the President of the association at the University of Cape Coast, Eric Adjei said he is committed to ensuring that items needed for the observance of protocols are delivered to students and people within the University community as part of their outreach programme.
He further called on students to comply with the safety protocols even as their end of semester examination commences.
“So our Covid-19 campaign involves a community outreach, which will be that we will move to the communities within the University, that is Amamoma, Kwapro Akotokyir, Apewosika, and Ayensu, within these communities, there are Primary and junior high schools so we believe that we can donate items to them that can help them with the compliance of the protocols that indeed Covid is still with us. Let us not lose focus, if not we will lose the fight. And the University of Cape Coast students start their exams, so I will like to use this opportunity to wish them all the best that even as they write their exams, they should ensure that they are still observing the protocols”, he remarked.
