Gyakie and rapper Yaw Tog have been trending on social media after reports that the former purposefully ignored the latter’s hug.
Yaw Tog and Kofi Jamar were seated on a sofa in the Greenroom in a brief video extensively circulated on Twitter when Gyakie approached them and embraced just Kofi Jamar but allegedly refused to hug Yaw Tog.
The performers, who were nominated for the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in 2021, were in Nigeria to take part in the event.
The video has subsequently elicited a range of reactions, with some speculating that the two performers are harboring grudges against one another.
However, Kofi Jamar has denied allegations that the two are beefing, stating that Yaw Tog was the first to get a hug from Gyakie.
“Let’s stop the false narrative and push what needs the right attention please. Ain’t no fuss between Yaw Tog and Gyakie. First person she hugged was YT before me.”
“However, the video posted captured only my part because that’s what my manager was able to capture as he walked in seconds after Gyakie,” Kofi Jamar explained.
