Black Coffee, a Grammy-winning South African DJ and record producer, is undergoing medical attention for wounds he apparently received from air turbulence during a flight.
When the incident occurred, he was traveling to a club performance in the resort city of Mar Del Plata, Argentina.
According to reports in the local media, the DJ was admitted to the hospital.
The event was described as “severe” by Black Coffee’s management team, who also stated that it “left him with some injuries”.
The DJ “suffered severe blows to his body,” according to a statement from Mute, the club where he was scheduled to perform, which was cited by the local media.

On Sunday, Black Coffee’s aircraft, departing from Florianopolis, Brazil, was forced to make an emergency landing at an airfield in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.
The statement “despite the challenges presented, Black Coffee is optimistic and recovering well” was made by his team on X on Wednesday.
Despite their reservations over the situation, thousands of South Africans are supporting the musician on social media.
“I wish you a speedy recovery Black Coffee. You have done so much to elevate South African music and take it to the world,” Sport, Arts and Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa said on X.
Known by his real name, Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, the 47-year-old performer is among the most prosperous in Africa.
Some of his greatest successes include winning a Grammy in the dance/electronic record category in 2022 and selling out New York’s famed Madison Square Garden stadium in October.
