A countrywide curfew has been declared by the government of Sierra Leone in response to a security breach at one of its barracks.
The Minister of Information and Civic Education of Sierra Leone, Chernkru Bah, issued a statement dated November 26 that stated that early on Sunday morning, a few unidentified individuals attempted to break into the military arsenal at Wilberforce barracks.
In a statement, Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Information and Civic Education said, “A nationwide curfew has been declared with immediate effect across the country to enable the security forces to continue the process of apprehending the suspects.”
In order to guarantee that the government and state security agencies are in control of the situation, Sierra Leoneans have been urged to stay at home.
