Ghanaian dancehall musician, Shatta Wale has been accused for allegedly assaulting a contractor and his workers working on a road in Adriganor, Accra.
Mr Kennedy Acquah believed to be the engineer working on-site had indicated that Shatta Wale was very angry that the work being done did not include the road leading to his office space.
According to Mr. Acquah, the contractor, Shatta Wale had earlier sent some of his “boys” to him on Saturday to make that request and enquiry.
“He (Shatta Wale) sent someone to us on Saturday to tell us to extend the road to his office, but we told them the length of the road and areas covered are contractual matters and not decided by the site workers” he mentioned in an interview on Accra based Starr FM.

Mr Acquah also added that he therefore recommended to the team that they could alert the office of the Department of Urban Roads so that the request could be granted.
Narrating the incident, the contractor also added that yesterday, Monday, 31st May 2021 a very livid Shatta Wale beseeched the construction site, paid less attention to the roadblock sign and began to question him about his decision not to entertain his request.
However, according to the contractor, one of the boys of Shatta Wale assaulted him, but the “Melissa” hitmaker looked at him in careless abandon.
“I went close to tell him I was in charge and before I could explain anything, one of the guys with him just slapped me and he was looking on”.
Mr Acquah also added that there were several guys on motorbikes who were with with him and they caused a scene, but the police couldn’t intervene in the situation when it happened.
“There were several guys on motorbikes with him (Shatta Wale). The incident was captured on video by people passing by. The police came there but did nothing about the assault on me; they rather exchanged pleasantries with him and told me to be careful.”
In some videos that have gone viral on social media, Shatta Wale is seen angrily complaining about the work the contractors were doing.
However, in a rebuttal, Shatta Wale has also explained on Accra based Hitz FM that he never assaulted anyone and bemoaned the spate at which some bloggers and media houses spread falsehood about him.
