The Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong has called on fresh sandwich students to put high premium on their studies as a way of helping the University to sustain the recognizable position it has obtained worldwide.
At a matriculation ceremony on Monday 18th July, 2022 to matriculate a total of 1569 fresh sandwich students for the 2022 sandwich session, he also urged the freshly admitted students to be law abiding as they undertake their studies.
The matriculants included 590 undergraduate students with 137 students from the College of Education Studies, 330 students from the College of Health and Allied Sciences and 133 students from the College of Humanities and Legal Studies. There were also 979 postgraduate students.
Professor Nyarko Boampong said, “as an institution, we are committed to helping you achieve your dream. Do your part by studying hard and adhering to the rules and regulations existing in the University.”

He further indicated that since the University of Cape Coast places a high premium on the education of students, all admitted students are expected to take their lectures seriously so they can tap knowledge from their professors, senior lecturers, lecturers and research fellows.
“You have enrolled at a moment when the University of Cape Coast is receiving a lot of recognition globally. This is an indication of the duty bestowed on us to live up to expectation of being University of Cape Coast students,” he added.
Speaking to ATL FM NEWS at the sidelines during the matriculation programme, the Vice Chancellor implored on the students not to do anything that will tarnish the reputable image of the University as they undertake their studies.
