The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced court dates and resumption of proceedings for seven ongoing prosecutions, with cases involving former government appointees, public servants, and private companies scheduled to resume between August and October 2026.

The OSP through Facebook page posted these dates and on going trials on Monday, August 10, ending the uncertainty surrounding these cases that had been suspended amid legal challenges to the anti-graft agency’s prosecutorial powers.

The scheduled cases and court dates are:

1. The Republic v. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid & 7 others (August 11, 2026): Involves former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) CEO Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, former UPPF Coordinator Jacob Kwamina Amuah, NPA staff member Wendy Newman, Bright Bediako-Mensah, Kwaku Aboagye Acquaah, and three corporate entities (Propnest Ltd, Kel Logistics Ltd, and Kings Energy Ltd).

    2. The Republic v. Kenneth Ofori-Atta & 7 others (August 27, 2026): Former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta faces 28 counts related to the GRA-SML revenue assurance contract. Co-accused include former GRA Commissioners-General Emmanuel Kofi Nti and Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, former Customs Commissioners Isaac Crentsil and Col. Kwadwo Damoah (Rtd), SML CEO Evans Adusei, and Ernest Darko Akore.

    3. The Republic v. Sumaila Abdul-Rahman & 3 others (August 27, 2026): Involves former Northern Development Authority (NDA) CEO Sumaila Abdul-Rahman, Deputy CEOs Stephen Yir-ErU Engmen and Patrick Seidu, and A&QS Consortium CEO Andrew Kuundaari.

    4. The Republic v. Issah Seidu & 3 others (October 23, 2026): Involves Issah Seidu, John Abban, and Peter Archibold Hyde.

    5. The Republic v. Charles Cromwell N. O. Bissue & 2 others (October 26, 2026): Involves former IMCIM Secretary Charles Bissue, Raphael Mensah, and Dr. Naa Dedei Tagoe.

    6. The Republic v. Ibrahim Kofi Sessah & Gloria Acquah (October 27, 2026): Involves Local Government Service Technician Ibrahim Kofi Sessah and Nurse Gloria Acquah.

The OSP’s list of ongoing prosecutions also identifies the case involving Charles Cromwell N. O. Bissue, Raphael Mensah and Dr. Naa Dedei Tagoe, with proceedings scheduled for October 26, 2026.

This Facebook post came as a result of unanimous Supreme Court ruling affirming the constitutionality of the OSP Act, which had come under scrutiny following a High Court decision in April 2026 that raised questions about the Office’s authority to prosecute cases.
