The last funeral ceremonies for the late veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, also referred to as Mr. Ibu, are being held in Amuri, Enugu State’s Nkanu West Local Government Area.
On this day, June 28, Mr. Ibu is being laid to rest. Pallbearers are seen in a widely shared social media video bringing his casket to the grave for interment.
Attendees at the funeral were Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) members and family mourners. On Sunday, June 30, his funeral service will conclude with a church thanksgiving for friends, family, and mourners.
The late actor will be laid to rest on June 28, 2024, at his hometown of Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, according to a statement released by the family in April announcing the burial plans.

Following a protracted illness, Mr. Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62. His wife and three children survive him.
