M.anifest has ignited a heated online debate after his reflections on rap “flow” in Ghana provoked backlash from SarkNation, the dedicated fan base of rapper Sarkodie.
On August 26, 2025, M.anifest shared a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, discussing his realization of how the term “flow” is interpreted in Ghanaian rap. He wrote:
“It took me a couple of years to realize when they talk about flow in these parts, they mean how fast you rhyme, lmao.”
Although M.anifest did not mention anyone specifically, many fans from SarkNation perceived the remark as a veiled jab at Sarkodie.
One supporter argued that Sarkodie exemplifies rap flow and accused M.anifest of intentionally overlooking this fact. The fan commented:
“Bro, Sarkodie does it effortlessly… You just don’t want to admit it. Or is it because you are very fluent and can rap in English? Do you think your proverbial raps make you the best? I know you’re good, but you can’t do it as effortlessly as Sarkodie. No cap, bro.”

Another fan suggested that M.anifest mistakenly believed his English-heavy style placed him on equal footing with Sarkodie, labeling that belief as delusional. The fan wrote in Pidgin:
“This guy, his GodMC song makes him think he’s in the same league as Sark. Delusion of grandeur dey worry you, chale. Have some deep introspection and accept you’ll never be like him.”
Nearly a decade ago, M.anifest and Sarkodie were embroiled in one of Ghana’s most notable rap rivalries, with Sarkodie releasing a diss track aimed at M.anifest, who responded with “GodMC.” This track was a significant part of their feud but has since been removed from his streaming platforms.
In 2020, however, both rappers surprised fans by burying the hatchet and collaborating on “Brown Paper Bag,” a politically charged track addressing colonization and unity in Africa.
