Parents and candidates facing unresolved challenges with the 2026 second-cycle school placement exercise can now access official assistance at a dedicated center established by the Ministry of Education in Accra.

The National Placement Resolution center, located at the Ghana National Association of Teachers Hall, will handle genuine placement problems that cannot be resolved by regional offices of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana TVET Service.

Deputy Minister for Education Dr Clement Apaak announced the intervention at a press briefing on Monday, September 7, 2026, explaining that technical teams had been deployed to assist affected candidates, parents and guardians.

The Ministry says the arrangement is intended to make the placement resolution process more organized, reduce unnecessary travel and protect families from individuals who demand money with promises of securing school placements.

Regional Offices Remain the First Point of Contact

Although the national center is located in Accra, parents and candidates have been advised not to travel there immediately when they encounter placement difficulties.

Dr Apaak said complaints should first be reported to the nearest regional office of the Ghana Education Service or Ghana TVET Service.

Officials at the regional level will assess each case and attempt to resolve it using the available placement records and administrative procedures.

Only cases that require further technical or national-level intervention will be referred to the resolution center at GNAT Hall.

The regional-first approach is expected to reduce congestion at the national center and make assistance more accessible to families outside Accra.

It will also help parents avoid transportation and accommodation expenses where their placement concerns can be resolved within their respective regions.

“For cases requiring national-level intervention, the GNAT Hall in Accra has been designated as the National Placement Resolution center,” Dr Apaak said.

Technical Teams Deployed to Assist Candidates

The Ministry has assigned technical officers to examine complaints escalated to the national center.

The teams are expected to verify candidates information, review placement records and determine the appropriate intervention for each genuine case.

The center will serve as the final official point of assistance for challenges that regional officials are unable to address.

The Ministry believes the structured process will improve coordination among the institutions responsible for second-cycle placement and provide clearer guidance to candidates and their families.

Parents have been encouraged to provide accurate information and any relevant placement details when reporting their concerns to help officials assess the cases efficiently.

Call-center Lines Activated

Parents, guardians and candidates who require information about the placement process can also contact the Ministry through three dedicated support lines.

The numbers are:

055 037 7388
059 952 5926
059 844 5898

The call-center service is intended to provide direct guidance and help families determine whether their concerns should be handled remotely, at a regional office or at the national center.

Parents have been advised to use the official telephone numbers instead of relying on information circulated by unauthorized individuals or unverified social media accounts.

The Ministry hopes the service will reduce confusion and allow candidates to receive accurate information without making unnecessary journeys.

Placement Is Completely Free

Dr Apaak stressed that candidates and parents are not required to pay anyone to obtain or resolve a school placement.

“Placement is absolutely free, and I emphasize, placement is absolutely free,” he said.

The Deputy Minister warned families against individuals who claim they can influence the placement system or secure admission to a particular school in exchange for money.

Parents and candidates have also been advised not to hand over their placement credentials or personal information to unauthorized intermediaries.

The Ministry says all genuine complaints must be handled through the official channels provided by the GES, Ghana TVET Service and the National Placement Resolution center.

The warning is intended to protect families from fraud and prevent the exploitation of parents who may be anxious about the schools assigned to their children.

center to Handle Genuine Cases

The national center is expected to focus on legitimate administrative or technical challenges arising from the placement exercise.

Officials will assess each complaint using information available within the official placement system.

The Ministry has not authorized private agents, middlemen or other individuals to collect money or negotiate placements on behalf of candidates.

Parents whose concerns have not yet been reported are therefore expected to begin the process at their regional education offices.

Cases requiring further intervention may then be formally escalated to Accra.

The procedure is intended to ensure that every complaint is documented, verified and handled through an accountable public institution.

Support System Aims to Reduce Costs

The Ministry says strengthening placement assistance at the regional level will reduce the financial burden on families.

Without regional support, parents may travel long distances to Accra even when their concerns could be resolved closer to home.

Such journeys may involve transportation, accommodation and other expenses.

By reserving the national center for complex or unresolved cases, technical teams will also be able to concentrate on complaints that genuinely require higher-level intervention.

The Ministry expects the arrangement to improve efficiency while making the resolution process more affordable for parents.

Parents Urged to Follow Official Procedure

Parents and candidates have been encouraged to remain patient and follow the established process when seeking assistance.

They should first contact their regional GES or Ghana TVET Service office, use the dedicated telephone lines for guidance and travel to the GNAT Hall center only when national-level intervention is required.

The Ministry says cooperation with the procedure will help officials resolve challenges more quickly while protecting candidates from fraud.

The National Placement Resolution center will remain the main national intervention point for genuine cases that cannot be settled through the regional support system.
