The Challenged Children Foundation International (CCFI) in Cape Coast on Monday, January 8, 2024, unveiled its new ambassador to project the foundation to the world.
This significant event marks a milestone for the foundation, which has been at the forefront of advocacy and support for children with disabilities in the central region.
The new ambassador, whose identity brings both prominence and a deep commitment to the cause, is expected to play a pivotal role in raising awareness and mobilizing resources for CCFI.
Mad. Magdalene Comfort Asirifi’s appointment comes at a critical time when the foundation is seeking to expand its outreach and programmes aimed at improving the lives of children facing various challenges.
CCFI, known for its innovative and inclusive approaches, has been instrumental in providing education, healthcare, and social support to children with disabilities.
The foundation’s efforts have not only improved the lives of many children but also challenged societal perceptions and the stigma associated with disabilities.
Mad. Magdalene Comfort Asirifi, a midwife and also the CEO of MAGDEE Global Foundation is expected to leverage her influence and network to champion the rights and needs of challenged children, both in Ghana and internationally.
Speaking exclusively to ATL FM NEWS, Mad. Asirifi indicated that she is privileged to accept the role of being the ambassador adding that she would do her best to project the foundation to the outside world.
A midwife passionately described her involvement in health outreach activities, emphasizing the vital need to address neglect and abandonment of children.
She highlighted the significance of every child, asserting that they require attention and care.
“These kids need our attention. You don’t even know what this kid will bring to you in future. Every child is special and we need to treat them as such. I will help the foundation go as far as they want to because we can’t do it alone and we will need sponsors. We will need people to help us do it,” She emphasized.
She further called on parents who lock their challenged children in rooms to desist from such acts as they inure the health of the children.
On her part, the CEO of Challenged Children Foundation International, Mrs. Richeal Adom appealed to various organizations and philanthropists to come to the aid of the foundation.
Mrs Adom expressed the need for a bus to transport children to school, allowing parents to work, and highlighted the Adom family’s commitment to housing and caring for these children, offering a facility with amenities and support services.
According to her, the foundation was premised on the challenges they went through with their son and urged parents not to relent in their efforts to take care of their challenged children.
The Challenge Children Foundation was established following the birth of Mrs. Richeal Adom’s son in 2014, who has special needs.
She emphasized that as a nurse and her husband as an engineer, they encountered numerous challenges and recognized similar struggles faced by other parents, particularly women who were neglected by their partners.
Seeking to address these issues, the foundation was formed to provide legal and comprehensive care for children with various difficulties, including cerebral palsy, autism, and disabilities, from early childhood onwards.
Mrs Adom underscored the importance of not isolating such children, as neglect could lead to severe consequences, including illness and mortality.
They urged others to open up about their challenges and seek assistance, highlighting the critical role of sharing difficulties as a means to seek solutions.
