Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, has justified the purchase of West African Senior High School Examination (WASSCE) past questions for GHS 33.6 million.

According to him, providing the questions is an important element of the government’s attempt to improve students’ preparation for the WASSCE.

For final year SHS students who appeared for the last exams, the government acquired certain previous questions.

Those who opposed the initiative said that the administration was only interested in guaranteeing a high pass grade for the first class of Free Senior High School graduates in order to gain political points, despite the policy’s difficulties.

Dr. Adutwum, however, defended the spending in a Citi News interview after addressing questions on the issue on the floor of Parliament from Bulisa South MP, Dr. Clement Apaak.

He described it as crucial assistance for kids, particularly those from low-income families.

“Giving students in low-income institutions access to past test questions, not just questions, but questions and answers, as well as the examiner’s report, was critical. Last year, the Ministry of Education made a significant contribution to the students.”

‘I have no regrets about utilizing oil money to finance a free secondary school.’ — Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has said that investing in Ghana’s youngsters is critical for the country’s future.

According to him, developing the country’s human capital would allow Ghana to shift from its present condition to one of growth and prosperity, raising the quality of life for all Ghanaians.
