President Akufo-Addo has designated Dr Isaac Dasmani as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Prestea Huni Valley Municipal Assembly in the Western Region.
Dr Dasmani, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economic Studies of the University of Cape Coast was nominated among other competitors including Mozart Kweku Owuh, the outgoing MCE and Lawrence Blay Awonia.
His nomination is subject to approval by not less than two-thirds of members of the assembly pursuant to article 243 of the constitution.

A memo that announced the nomination and signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, indicated the Regional Minister had been instructed to liaise with the regional Electoral Commission to conduct the election for Dr. Dasmani’s confirmation by the members of the assembly.
