The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has released an amended register of authorized polling locations for its impending presidential primary, doing so barely a day before voting is set to take place.
The revised list, which has been distributed to party officials and election coordinators nationwide, outlines approved voting sites across every constituency and region.
According to the document, the majority of polling stations will operate from public facilities such as basic and secondary schools, community halls, police premises, and other officially recognized venues. Each location is accompanied by GPS details to aid navigation and ensure an efficient voting process on election day.
The approved centers span all 16 regions of the country from Western and Central to Northern, Savannah, and the Upper regions underscoring the nationwide character of the internal contest.
The presidential primary, slated for January 31, 2026, is expected to be one of the most fiercely competitive in the party’s history, as the NPP prepares to choose its presidential candidate for the next general election.
Five high-profile contenders are vying for the party’s nomination. They include former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; former Assin Central legislator Kennedy Ohene Agyapong; Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr Bryan Acheampong; Bosomtwe MP Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum; and former NPP General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.
