The Oguaa Traditional Council in Cape Coast has received a donation from The Luckiest Africa in support of the 2025 edition of Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebrations.

The donation, presented at a brief but colourful ceremony, forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility and its efforts to strengthen connections with the Ghanaian public.

The items presented included a 43-inch television set, six cartons of canned beverages, two crates of Club beer, two bottles of schnapps, two packs of bottled water, and an undisclosed amount of money.

The gifts were received on behalf of the Oguaa Paramount Chief, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, by the Queenmother for the Oguaa Traditional Area, Nana Ekua Abookyi VI, the Chief of Staff at the Council, Nana Kodwo Kra, and other elders of the Traditional Council.

Speaking after the presentation, the brand ambassador of The Luckiest Africa, veteran actor and broadcaster Mikki Osei Berko, explained that the gesture was both a show of solidarity and an avenue to actively participate in one of Ghana’s most celebrated festivals.

“We consider The Luckiest as a festival itself, so associating with traditional festivals across the country is part of our obligation. The Oguaa Fetu Afahye is one of the biggest in Ghana, and we could not have thought less than becoming part of it. This donation symbolises our commitment to building stronger ties with the people of Oguaa,” Mr. Berko said.

He further used the opportunity to educate the public about The Luckiest platform, highlighting the life-changing opportunities it provides through weekly bonuses and a grand draw in December.

“It’s an opportunity for everybody to become a millionaire in this country. The Luckiest is not just a game, it’s a chance to share in the joy of winning. We are delighted to be here to celebrate with Oguaa,” he added.

Receiving the items, Nana Ekua Abookye VI expressed gratitude on behalf of the Paramount Chief and commended The Luckiest Africa for its support.

She noted that contributions of this nature play a vital role in ensuring the successful organisation of the annual festival.

“Support from corporate institutions and individuals is very important in sustaining the Fetu Afahye. We appreciate The Luckiest Africa’s contribution and encourage other organisations to follow their example,” he said.

The Oguaa Fetu Afahye, one of Ghana’s oldest and most colourful traditional festivals, is celebrated every first Saturday in September by the people of Cape Coast.

The festival, which marks the beginning of the fishing season, attracts thousands of people from across Ghana and the diaspora, boosting tourism and contributing significantly to the local economy.

Over the years, the festival has evolved into not only a cultural and religious event but also an avenue for promoting unity, showcasing the rich heritage of the Oguaa people, and attracting investment to the Central Region.

About The Luckiest Africa

Launched earlier this year, The Luckiest Africa is a fast-growing gaming and lifestyle platform that combines entertainment with social impact. The initiative has become popular across Ghana for its promise of transforming lives through fair play, offering participants opportunities to win weekly bonuses and a grand prize of GH¢2.5 million in December.

As part of its social responsibility, the company has pledged to support cultural festivals, community development projects, and other initiatives that bring people together. According to its management, this approach ensures that The Luckiest Africa is not only about winning but also about building lasting connections with communities across the country.

The company’s support for the Oguaa Fetu Afahye is therefore in line with its vision of celebrating Ghanaian traditions while providing life-changing opportunities for ordinary citizens.
