Exams to Be Held in Training Institutions Instead of Centralised Centres
The Ministry of Health has postponed the Centralised Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examinations to September 4, 2025, citing safety and logistical concerns.
In a statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman, the decision was reached after a consultative meeting involving the Minister of Health, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI).
Return to Previous Examination Format
The new arrangement reverts to the previous system where the examinations will be conducted within the respective training institutions. This, according to the Ministry, will ensure smoother participation and allow for closer supervision by the NMC.
Mr Goodman explained that the directive was influenced by risks associated with extensive travel to centralised centres, noting that the decision was made to safeguard the safety, fairness, and well-being of candidates.

Revised Timetable to Be Issued
The Ministry added that the NMC will release a revised timetable and detailed guidelines in the coming days to guide candidates and institutions in preparing for the rescheduled examinations.
