President John Dramani Mahama has announced posthumous promotions for the three military officers who lost their lives in the Adansi Helicopter Crash on August 6, 2025.
Squadron leader Peter Obafemi Anala has been promoted to the rank of Wing Commander, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu is now promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant while Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah received promotion to the rank of Flight Sergeant.
Delivering his tribute at the state funeral for the Eight fallen Heroes on Friday August 15, 2025 President Mahama stated that these promotions represent “the rightful place these officers have earned in our Republic’s role of honour.”
He said the Chief of the Defence Staff will oversee the ceremonial presentation of the posthumous promotions, ensuring that the benefits which will be reflected in the new ranks are passed on to their families.
Meanwhile, President Mahama emphasized that the civilian victims of the crash will be posthumously recognized at the next National Honours Ceremony, affirming their contributions and sacrifice.
