UK Alumni Ambassador for West and Central Africa, Cherubim Mawuli Amenyedor, has called for Ghana and the United Kingdom to deepen collaboration in tourism and education to drive economic growth and strengthen cultural ties.
Speaking at the Joy Business and Alumni UK Connect event in Accra, Mr. Amenyedor highlighted the role of cultural exchanges and educational partnerships in fostering mutual understanding and long-term development.
He commended the British Council, the British High Commission, and other UK-linked trade and cultural organizations for their contributions over the years, but stressed the need to expand such initiatives.
“In the space of education, I would encourage more visits and partner exchanges between Ghanaian schools and their UK counterparts,” he said. “Mentorship programmes, joint projects, and in-person interactions create a level of immersion that virtual platforms cannot fully replicate.”
Mr. Amenyedor added that increased school visits would not only enhance cultural understanding but also open doors for future collaborations that benefit both nations.
The Alumni UK Connect event brought together professionals, students, and stakeholders to explore ways of strengthening bilateral ties through people-to-people engagement.
