President Mahama has announced interim ministerial appointments following the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of key government officials on August 6, 2025.
Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson has been asked to act as Defence Minister and Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah as the Acting Minister of Science, Environment, Technology and Innovation.
Their additional responsibilities follow the tragic passing of the late Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation were among the 8 who perished in the helicopter crash.
This new development is contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson to the President, and Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
