The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will carry out planned maintenance works in the Central Region on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as part of efforts to enhance electricity supply and service reliability.
The exercise, scheduled to run from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will affect power supply to several communities across the region, including the entire Cape Coast Metropolis and KEEA Municipality.
Other affected areas include: Yamoransa, Asebu, Edumfa, Fante Nyankumasi, Assin Manso, Assin Kushia, Fosu township, Effutu, Jukwa, Abrafo, Hemang, Biriwa township, Anomabo, Kromaste, Ekrabadze, Adambo, Saltpond township, Mankessim, Parts of Ajumako District, Ekumfi, Essueshia, Eyisam, Nanaben and surrounding communities.
In a statement issued on Monday, ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience the temporary outage may cause, assuring residents that the maintenance is critical to improving overall service delivery and ensuring long-term power stability.
“We urge residents in the affected areas to plan accordingly and bear with us as we work to upgrade our systems for improved efficiency,” the company said.
ECG has advised customers to switch off electrical appliances during the outage to avoid potential damage when power is restored.
