King Promise emerged as the biggest winner at the 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on Saturday, May 10, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The Afrobeats star took home the coveted Artiste of the Year title, beating out strong competition from Stonebwoy, King Paluta, and others. This marks King Promise’s first time clinching the top honor at the annual awards show.
He also won three additional awards on the night:
- Best Afropop Song of the Year
- Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year
- Best Album/EP of the Year
Gospel veteran Yaw Sarpong was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long contribution to gospel music in Ghana.

The night featured performances from a mix of rising and established stars, including Ayisi, Yaw Darling, Empress Gifty, King Paluta, Stonebwoy, and King Promise himself.

There was also a special tribute performance by Adina, Adomaa, and Titi Owusu in honor of the legendary Osibisa band and its late founder, Teddy Osei.
In total, 32 awards were handed out, celebrating excellence across various music genres.
