Samsung has paused the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 7 update after reports of a serious bug affecting some South Korean Galaxy S24 users, which prevented them from unlocking their devices.
The news of the suspension was first shared by leaker Ice Universe, who highlighted the “serious bug.” Although most complaints have originated from South Korean Galaxy S24 owners, Samsung has decided to halt the rollout for all models globally to ensure user safety.

While some users may have already installed the One UI 7 update, our checks using the app CheckFirm indicate that it is no longer available on Samsung’s servers as the latest firmware version for various Galaxy devices, with older updates now listed instead. Samsung has yet to confirm the pause in the rollout or its plans to address issues for those who have already upgraded. We have reached out to the company for further clarification.
The One UI 7 update, which includes Android 15 and several AI enhancements, began its rollout on April 7 for Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 devices, with the US version released on April 10. This update has been available for Galaxy S25 models and newer Galaxy A series devices since their launch in February.
This pause comes after a significant delay in the update’s release for older devices, arriving seven months after Android 15 was initially made available to developers, and two months after the S25 series launched with the new software.
