“Anora” Triumphs at the 97th Academy Awards with Five Wins, Including Best Picture!
The 97th Academy Awards have concluded, with independent film “Anora” emerging as the standout winner of the evening, capturing five out of six nominations.
Its victories included prestigious categories such as Best Actress, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing, all of which were fiercely contested.
The highlight of Sunday’s ceremony was “Anora” securing the coveted Best Picture award.
In a remarkable performance, it outshone two major musicals, “Emilia Pérez” and “Wicked,” which garnered 13 and 10 nominations, respectively, but managed only two wins each.
Additionally, “Anora” was preferred by Academy voters over fellow independent film “The Brutalist,” which won three awards from its ten nominations.
