Despite his recent appointments as a Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister designate for Food and Agriculture, Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo has vowed to promote the creative arts sector.
Speaking on February 6, 2025, at the opening of Celestine Donkor’s 11th Celestial Praiz performance, John expressed his admiration for the gospel singer’s work and pledged to always provide her with the assistance she needs:
He stated that he will continue to make himself available for creative arts endeavors notwithstanding his participation in politics and agriculture.
“Even though I am currently an MP and work in the Agriculture Ministry, I will always be an art lover and I will never forget my roots in the arts industry. At the program, which took place at Tang Palace in Accra, he declared, “I will always be a creative person, and if we don’t develop our own, who else will develop it for us?”
He went on to say that the creative sector makes a significant contribution to the national economy, despite the fact that some people ignore it.
