Despite dominating the music world with singles like “Jeje” and “Slay Queen,” Afro-pop artist Sista Afia has revealed her long-term goal to return to her nursing career at the age of 40.
Despite her present full-time commitment to music, Ghanaian Afro-pop sensation Sista Afia has stated that she plans to return to her nursing career at the age of 40.
The “Jeje” and “Slay Queen” singer revealed in a recent interview on Onua TV that she is temporarily putting her nursing career on ice in order to focus on her music. She does, however, intend to return to the field in the future.
“Right now, I’m a full-time musician, and nursing is on hold. When I get to the age of 40, I’ll go back to nursing, she disclosed. Adding a humorous touch, she said, It’s been a while since I stopped school; I’ve even forgotten how to spell ‘Chloroquine.“
Sista Afia was a licensed nurse in the UK prior to focusing entirely on her musical career. Before moving overseas to further her study, she started her nursing studies at the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute in Ghana.

She returned to Ghana in 2015 to pursue her love of music, and since then, she has become one of the most well-known Afro-pop singers. Sista Afia, who is well-known for songs like “Jeje” and “Slay Queen,” emphasized that although music is currently her top goal, her nursing experience is still a crucial component of her path.
