The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tatale Sanguli constituency of the Northern Region has suspended 58 members over allegations of disloyalty during the recent elections.

According to a letter signed by the constituency chairman and addressed to the party’s national and regional executives, the suspended members are accused of working against the party’s official parliamentary candidate, a violation of the NPP constitution.

The decision has sparked controversy, with one of the suspended members, Napare Prosper, a former communications officer for the constituency, vehemently denying the allegations.

Prosper has demanded evidence and a fair hearing, giving the constituency chairman a 24-hour ultimatum to substantiate the claims.

“I have seen the suspension letter circulating on social media, but I want to state categorically that I did not campaign against the party’s candidate. I have not breached any part of the party’s constitution, and I demand a fair hearing,” Prosper asserted.

The suspension has drawn mixed reactions within the constituency, with calls for due process to ensure justice and unity within the party.

Below is the suspension list.
