YouTube is experimenting with multiplayer minigames as part of its “Playables” collection of free, light games. Multiplayer mode is now supported in Magic Tiles 3 and Ludo Club.
For a few chosen games on YouTube Playables, we’re starting to test a new multiplayer functionality. Playables’ multiplayer feature allows you to play games with other users in real time, according to the business.
For the past year or so, YouTube has been experimenting “Playables,” or mini-games, on its website and app. In May, it made its library of free games available to everyone after previously limiting access to premium subscribers.
The Playables catalog of the video streaming service has been gradually expanding. There are currently over 130 games available in genres like Action, Racing, Simulation, Word & Trivia, Arcade Brain & Puzzle, and Sports.

YouTube is not the only site that uses games to increase user engagement; Netflix and LinkedIn have also implemented games to keep users on their platforms for purposes other than viewing movies or responding to postings.
