Mr. George Frimpong-Manso, an aspirant for the chairmanship of the Senior Staff Association – Universities of Ghana, University of Cape Coast Local (SSA-UoG, UCC), has expressed confidence in his ability to lead the association to greater heights.
Speaking to ATL FM NEWS at an aspirants’ manifesto reading ahead of the upcoming elections, Mr. Frimpong-Manso assured members that if elected, he will promptly tackle all outstanding issues within the association.
He also promised to advocate for better allowances for all categories of senior staff, working closely with the National Executive Council (NEC) to ensure their demands are met.
“We call it the TEWU-SSA Welfare Association. That is an area that I can harness to bring in what you call capital investment into the association. We have conditions of service issues. When I come and if I’m voted for, that’s what I’m going to look at.”
Mr. Frimpong-Manso highlighted his commitment to enhancing transparency and accountability in the welfare of the association and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaborations with sister unions to provide stronger support for the association’s causes.
The event that took place at the University’s main auditorium saw candidates vying for executive positions present their vision and plans for the association.
The elections are scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, and have generated significant interest among staff members.
During the manifesto reading, aspirants outlined their key priorities, focusing on issues such as improving staff welfare, enhancing working conditions, and strengthening communication between the association’s leadership and its members.
Each of the 23 qualified candidates highlighted the steps they would take to address the challenges faced by senior staff and promote a more inclusive and efficient working environment at the University of Cape Coast.
Mr. Frimpong-Manso further indicated that through his years of leadership, he will ensure that all staff grievances are tackled.
On the Staff land purchase issue, he said within a year of being elected he will deal with all issues concerning documentation.
