Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensah has disclosed that the final voters’ register will be released to political parties in the first week of November ahead of the 2024 General Election.
This disclosure was made at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held on Tuesday, October 15 2024 at the EC’s head office.
At the IPAC meeting, the EC presented the corrected Provisional Voters’ Register to the political parties for their review and requested their cooperation in helping to clean up the register.
Mrs. Mensah expressed her satisfaction to the political parties for their cooperation assuring them of the Electoral Commission’s readiness to listen to and address any challenges that the political parties presented.
She urged political parties to work with the Commission to resolve any discrepancies identified during the online exhibition period and refrain from spreading false information that could undermine the electoral process.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission also asked the political parties to caution party members from engaging in violent electoral behaviours.
