The Ministry of Roads and Highways has commenced investigations into the blasting incident that occurred on the Buduburam section of the Kasoa-Winneba Road Dualization Project in the Central Region.
The incident which occurred on Monday, 14th October resulted in three deaths and has left many injured.
In a statement signed by the Head of the Public Relations Unit, Nasir Ahmed Yartey, the Ministry indicated it has begun processes to unravel the cause of the unfortunate incident.
It is collaborating with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Ghana Police Service to determine the actual number of casualties and injuries to ensure they are properly catered for.
The Ministry offered its condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
Meanwhile, they assured the public of its commitment to ensuring that the highest standards of safety are adhered to by the contractor.
