President Akufo Addo has described the campaign of the NPP presidential aspirant, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as inspiring and one that gives the aspirant a good standing to winning the elections.
In an interview with France 24, he stated that Dr. Bawumia’s message resonates with the young people in Ghana and has a good record to defend.
“At the same time, he’s also brought some new ideas to the surface, which are ideas, especially of how the young people can also now get involved” he continued.
He believes that the NPP flagbearer is waging a good campaign and his administration’s accomplishments provide a strong foundation for his campaign.
President Akufo-Addo observed that although Ghanaians are facing economic difficulties, they are aware of the NPP’s accomplishments during the 8 years in power.
He emphasized these achievements noting reforms in education, health, road infrastructure, and in the development of the digital economy.
He described the aforementioned sectors as the pillars of the Ghanaian economy which he said have seen massive developments since they assumed power.
“They’re the key, key, key ingredients of the Ghanaian economy that have seen significant improvements and developments since we came back. So there’s a record in which he’s campaigning.”
