10 identified and selected deprived learners in some Junior High Schools (J.H.S) in the Central Region have benefited from the generosity of Deeper Life Aid (DLAiD) which has presented them with educational materials.
The donation done in collaboration with Deeper Life Bible Church, Cape Coast is to provide some relief to the selected brilliant but needy basic school learners within Cape Coast Metropolis.
The items donated included basic seven to nine English, Mathematics, Science, and other textbooks, school bags, and mathematical sets among others.
Deeper Life Aid (DLAiD) is a Faith-Based Non-Governmental Organization set up by the Deeper Life Bible Church in Ghana to contribute to the well-being of society by providing support in sectors such as education, health, livelihood empowerment, humanitarian, and emergency relief services among others.
Speaking to ATLFMNEWS at the sideline of the donation at the Deeper Life Regional Church premise, the Central Regional Campus Coordinator, Dr. Francis Nsiah said the donation is aimed at meeting the educational needs of students to equip them to develop intellectually for the progress of the country.
He said the church should not only focus on preaching the Gospel but should also be interested in giving back physically to support the communities it operates.
Dr. Francis Nsiah used the opportunity to appeal to students to cultivate the habit of reading to help expand their scope of knowledge.
He assured of the number of recipients growing with time and added that they will monitor and assess the educational materials andit impacts on the beneficiaries.
“So, from time to time, they call to find out what help are they getting from the books and then which other areas they can also give them like real feedback to improve upon the operations.”
On her part, the Cape Coast Metro Director of Education, Mrs. Phyllis Asante-Krobea expressed her appreciation to DLAiD for the kind gesture to the students.
She explained that the donation is in tandem with how the church has been assisting in the promotion of education in Ghana.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Asante-Krobea urged parents to ensure their wards put the book to good use and for their intended purposes.
