Kofi Kinaata, a Ghanaian highlife artist, is overjoyed that Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II asked people to consider the wisdom contained in his song “Susuka.”
Speaking at the Ghana Bar Association’s General Conference supper in Kumasi, Otumfuo advised Ghanaians, especially political leaders, “to think deeply before denigrating the system.”
He asserted that despite the difficulties facing Ghana’s judicial system, its citizens should be proud of their nation because other nations strive to emulate Ghana.
He urged Ghanaians to consider the wise words of Kofi Kinaata.
He used the line “Obi nya way3” from the popular song “Susuka” by Kofi Kinaata to highlight how important it is to value Ghana.
“We have a judiciary that may not be perfect but it deserves credit for the positive efforts. I can think of many countries which look at Ghana and to the seas ‘Y3 nyamuay3’
“Sometimes listen to the wisdom of our musicians and reflect on a piece like Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Obi nya way3’ which means ‘Someone wishes they were like you,” Otumfuo remarked.

“My earnest plea to the people of Ghana especially our political leaders, journalists, social commentators and civil society advocates is to think deeply before denigrating the system,” he added.

Exuberantly, Kofi Kinaata posted the Asantehene’s commendation on social media, captioning it, “Auntie Ama eeiii.. I have made it!!” #KofiOOKofi.
