Gospel musician Esther Smith has counseled gospel performers to be serious about God’s work rather than focusing on fame. She explained that because there are many spiritual and physical attacks in the industry, gospel performers need to be serious about God’s work.
The ministry is about the ministration of Christ and preaching the gospel to the people, so gospel singers need to be serious.

“I always say that when it comes to gospel music, we should take it seriously. It’s not I want to be famous; I want everybody to see me. We should take its serious because there are so many attacks in it,” she said in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM.
“When it comes to hiplife, they are going on their way but when it comes to praises and worship, you are ministering Christ, the anointed one to the people,” she added.
