The rivalry between Dancehall giants Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy has been well-known for years. The two regularly argue on several forums about who is the real champion of the genre in Ghana.
For years, fans have been split apart, with each group fervently defending their preferred performer.
But it appears Shatta Wale is prepared to end the discussion immediately by a direct competition.

In a Facebook post, Shatta Wale stated: “I am issuing a formal challenge to @stonebwoy and his fans to meet me at the Accra Sports Stadium to resolve the ‘Dancehall King’ title dispute. If he and his fans decline this invitation, he should refrain from identifying as a Dancehall artiste, as I consider him a Reggae artiste. I assure the nation’s leaders that this will be a structured and healthy competition. Interested sponsors can contact our management teams.”
Shatta Wale’s challenge has not yet received a response from Stonebwoy, the current TGMA Artiste of the Year, but the action is already creating a stir among fans and causing a stir in the entertainment business.
