The Director of Election for the New Patriotic party (NPP), Evans Nimako has highlighted the differences between the campaigning styles of the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Mr. Nimako, the NDC “has no new policy to unveil to Ghana” because, under former President Mahama’s tenure, “nothing significantly changed.”
Speaking on Okay FM this morning, Mr. Nimako emphasized the NPP’s plan to “unveil a manifesto that covers all issues at the right time to advance Ghana.”
He questioned, “What new policies can the NDC bring on board? Their style is totally different from that of the NPP. We have witnessed John Mahama’s tenure of office before, and nothing changed under his governance. At the right time, the NPP will unveil its manifesto that covers all issues to help develop Ghana.”
His comments come in response to the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia’s announcement that the party will officially launch its campaign in Tamale tomorrow, July 27.
He further suggested that it would be ideal for NDC Flagbearer John Mahama to participate in a debate with NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as he believes this would help identify which of the leaders is fit to be the next President of Ghana.
“When a leader wants to run for elections, you open yourself up for a debate. We want the NDC flagbearer and the NPP flagbearer to meet for a debate to help identify which of the leaders is fit to be Ghana’s next president,” he noted.
