Highlife rapper KK Fosu has apologized in response to criticism following his interview on Hitz FM in which he gave an explanation for his absence from publicist John Claude’s burial.
In a statement made public on July 22, 2024, the musician restates the specifics of the incident that took John Claude’s life and says he was hurt to hear that he was held responsible for it.
He does, however, express regret for his remarks made on Hitz FM, which may not have been well received by Claude’s family or the broader public.
In addition, he urges the police to look into the regrettable situation as soon as possible.
Prior to this, KK Fosu addressed criticism about his decision to skip publicist John Claude Tamakloe’s funeral. Tamakloe passed away a few weeks ago after an accident involving K Bless and KK Fosu resulted in his death.
Since the event, KK Fosu and K Bless have been under fire for failing to attend the deceased’s burial on Saturday, July 20, 2024, or for failing to call the family to offer their condolences.
Over the weekend, a few of John Claude Tamakloe’s pals, including Eric Toscar, Elorm Beenie, and music producer JMJ, expressed their disgust with the circumstances on social media.
But according to KK Fosu, who was speaking with DJ Slim on Hitz FM, he was not informed in advance about the funeral. In addition, he mentioned that his accident-related injuries were still bothering him.
The ‘Anadwo Yede’ singer continued by saying that he was also let down by Claude’s family, who seemed to be more worried about Claude’s absence at the publicist’s one-week memorial service than they were about his health or K Bless’s.

“I didn’t know about his funeral. None of the family members told us about it. I also sustained injuries and I am still receiving treatment. So it was not compulsory for me to attend the funeral. I was not the one that killed the boy. It was just nice if we all came together but if you are angry with me, I don’t know what will happen to me I come to you. I would never allow any of my team members to represent me,” he said.
In addition, he clarified that, despite claims to the contrary, he only met the deceased while they were traveling to the event with Claude.
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, as KK Fosu, K Bless, Claude, and others were traveling to a wedding, an accident happened on the Accra-Apam Highway road.
On July 19, 2024, John Claude Tamakloe was buried at Tema Community 2.
