Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia will be celebrating his 132nd birthday with a lavish event hosted by the Rastafari Council of Ghana.
The event is scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday, July 23, 2024, starting at 6:00 p.m. at Rising Phoenix, Akuma Village, Accra.
There will be a dynamic blend of speakers, music, and culture at the event.
Performers including Konkarah Jah Vybes, Osagyefo, Kojo Kombolo, Aklerh, and Sancious Queen will grace the celebration stage.
Dancers should get ready to have a great time as DJs Nature Wan and Ras Nene perform a variety of conscious dancehall and reggae songs, creating a lively environment all night long.”
Ruff Ringo and Culture B, the night’s MCs, will lead us through the festivities and make sure everyone has a great time.
Insightful talks on the legacy of Emperor Haile Selassie I and his influence on the Rastafari movement and beyond will also be provided by esteemed guest speakers Djabi, Jah Gold, Empress Safy, and Daddy Bosco during the event.

International Sound System Operator Stuart Brown, also known as African Star, and seasoned reggae icon Black Santino are among the special guests.
Ghana’s Ras Korby Hingere Gaere, the Rastafari Council’s Culture Commissioner, said, “It will be an evening of unity, reflection, and celebration as we pay tribute to a remarkable leader and icon adding that, “this event is free and open to the public, and we encourage all to come and be a part of this significant celebration.”
Established in 2009, the Rastafari Council, Ghana is committed to working for the advancement of Rastafari in Ghana and promoting the teachings and legacy of Emperor Haile Selassie I.
The council aims to uplift and unite the Rastafari community and all those who value peace, love, and togetherness through cultural events, educational programs, and community outreach.
The Ethiopian World Federation (EWF), Twelve Tribes of Israel (TTI), Ruutz International, and Baifikrom Nyahbinghi House are among the Rastafari mansions that make up the Council.
