The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has disassociated itself from the recent Nationwide strike declaration of National Service Personnel as announced by the “Concerned NSS Personnel Association of Ghana, (CONSPAG).
The group, CONSPAG, declared the strike action for National Service personnel on Wednesday, July 2, 2024.
In a statement, CONSPAG attributed the strike to the severe financial hardships citing struggles NSS Personnel face in affording accommodation, transportation, and basic necessities while on duty.
However, NASPA in a statement issued on Thursday, July 4 said it is the official representative body for all National Service personnel in Ghana and has not declared any strike action.
The association emphasized it is actively engaged with the management of NSS to address the recent delays in allowance payments.
According to NASPA “Allowances for April 2024 have been processed and paid and will reflect in your accounts by Friday, July 5, 2024. Allowances for May 2024 will be paid next week, by Friday, July 12, 2024.”
NASPA has therefore urged the public to disregard the information by CONSAG describing it as an unrecognized organisation.
NASPA further stated that it is working diligently to prevent further delays and ensure timely payment of allowances in the e-zwich accounts of NSS personnel.
