Media personality and actor, Jimmy Quist has revealed that he offered to be part of award winning TV show, Efie Wura voluntarily.
Arguably, one of the best television shows, Efie Wura highlighted some of the interesting happenings in a typical rented facility in the suburbs of Ghana.
The award wining series has had great actors like, Bob Santo, who served as the first Efie Wura, to wit land lord and other interesting actors like Koo Fori, Gloria Sarfo, Kwame Djokoto among a host of other actors.

Speaking in an interview on Accra based Channel 1, Jimmy Quist mentioned that he wasn’t paid for his role in Efie Wura, but rather had received stipends from the producers because he started voluntarily.
Recounting how he entered Efie Wura, Jimmy explained that he met the director on one of his visits to Mark Okraku Mantey, who was the then producer of the late highlife musician, Daasebre Dwamena.
According to him “Efiewura came out because when Okraku Mantey had produced Daasebre Dwamena I think there was a fall out somewhere so I went to visit Okraku Mantey and there was the director there and I offered to be part of the series Voluntarily”.
He also revealed that he was actively involved in Efie Wura for thirteen years but never got paid.

“I was actively in Efiewura for 13 years …from 2002 till 2014… I wasn’t getting paid..they were only paying the professionals… Those of us with cars were given something for fuel” he explained.
According to Jimmy Quist, he got involved with the promotion of Efie Wura because of his good friend, Koo Fori who was then at Radio Gold and himself being at Joy FM used their platform to help the show grow and get popular.
He was quick to affirm that,” They only gave allowance…I wanted to do it because it was my friend’s thing…Koofori was at Radio Gold and I was at Joy so we used our platform to propel Efiewura to get popular.
Efie Wura has brought joy on the faces of many especially with a litany of casts like Bob Santo, Fassara, Margaret Quainoo, Adwoa Smart, Kwame Dzokoto, Ebenezer Donkor and a host of actors.
