Gospel artist Nicholas Omane Acheampong has urged Ghanaians to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming 2024 elections, emphasizing that voting for the New Patriotic Party’s candidate is crucial for the continuity of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy since former President John Dramani Mahama would cancel it.
He expressed concerns that the National Democratic Congress’ John Mahama might abolish the Free SHS if elected, hence Ghanaians must not vote for the NDC’s candidate.

Omane Acheampong highlighted difficulties faced by orphans and other children in accessing SHS education during Mahama’s tenure, contrasting it with the benefits Free SHS has brought.
He also praises President Akufo-Addo’s for the implementation of such a very prudent policy.

He noted that under the current administration, the Free SHS initiative has significantly benefited orphaned children, enabling them to pursue secondary education and even higher studies in Nursing Training and other tertiary institutions.
He therefore called for empathy to be shown towards orphans and beneficiaries of the Free SHS.
“If Mahama returns to power, he will likely abolish Free SHS. We must show empathy towards these orphaned children and ensure their future by voting for Bawumia,” Nicholas Omane Acheampong stated during an interview on Agyapa TV.
