The UNESCO Category 2 Centre, known as the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) at the University of Cape Coast, has emphasized its crucial role in promoting education through strategic partnerships.
In an exclusive interview with ATLFM NEWS, Ms. Nana Efua Rockson, Head of Communications and Public Relations at IEPA, highlighted the institute’s collaborations with teachers, researchers, and ministers to ensure the promotion of quality education for all.
“IEPA has been designated as a UNESCO Category 2 Centre to help the government promote quality education through partnerships. We make this possible through collaborations with teachers, researchers, and ministers,” she stated.
Ms. Rockson elaborated on IEPA’s initiatives, partnerships, and efforts to improve educational standards, focusing on the collective goal of enhancing educational outcomes and accessibility.
According to Ms. Rockson, education is not merely about completing school to secure a job but involves a strategic, lifelong approach aimed at fostering quality thinking patterns and initiatives to benefit one’s family, community, and church, which IEPA is dedicated to promoting.
“Education is not only centered on attaining a degree but is a lifelong approach aimed at fostering quality thinking patterns,” she remarked.
Meanwhile, Dr. Alfred Ampah-Mensah, Deputy Director-General of Academic Planning and Professional Development at IEPA, emphasized the importance of collaboration between corporate agencies and NGOs to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4, which centers on education.
He called on these institutions to unite and work together to make this initiative a reality.
“The United Nations envisions promoting quality education as stipulated in Sustainable Development Goal 4. Therefore, collaboration between nations, NGOs, and corporate agencies is essential to help make this vision a reality,” he said.
