Sammy Flex, the manager of Shatta Wale, has responded to a statement issued by Wave Africa after the artist was prevented from performing at the Jean Topp Nelson Yankah Hall at the University of Ghana.
Youth-focused and Communication agency, Wave Africa have clarified why dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was denied from performing at the Reunion Rave Artiste Night on Saturday, 8th June 2024.
The Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was billed to perform at the Reunion Rave Artiste Night on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon, but it was canceled on the day of the show, leaving many to wonder why it happened.

In their statement, Wave Africa explained the reasons for the cancellation, citing an “order from above” after the Dean of Students’ office announced the event’s cancellation on Friday, June 7. Reacting to this on Facebook, Sammy Flex expressed his dissatisfaction.

In his response to the release on social media, Sammy Flex questioned the basis of the response from Wave Africa.

He argued that reasonable people should not believe the “order from above” excuse, suggesting that those who do need to mature mentally.
“If you reside in Ghana and possess a sound mind, yet believe that orders from higher authorities are given simply because the issuer lacks direction in life, then I hope for your mental growth” he posted.
Additionally, Shatta Wale’s manager expressed his interest in seeing how discerning readers would react after reading Wave Africa’s statement.
“I am curious to see if insightful readers would pose the appropriate questions after reading this press release from Wave Africa” he wrote.
He quipped that Ghanaians should add a Dutch passport as a prayer point as the final one.
