Youth-focused and Communication agency, Wave Africa have clarified why dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was denied from performing at the Reunion Rave Artiste Night on Saturday, 8th June 2024.
Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was billed to perform at the Reunion Rave Artiste Night on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon, but it was canceled on the day of the show, many to wonder why it happened.
Shatta Wale couldn’t perform on the said night as scores of students had thronged in that night to catch a glimpse of their favorite Dancehall artiste and this has raised a lot of concerns.
In a twist of events, the scheduled event was canceled and according to Wave Africa, they have alleged in a press statement this morning that they had information from the Office of the Dean of Students, University of Ghana that the show could proceed but without Shatta Wale.
According to the release, on the eve of the show, they saw an online publication that indicated that the Office of the Dean of Students had canceled the show, hence as a result, they contacted the Executives of Jean Toppe Nelson Yankah Hall, who had assured them that the issues had been resolved with the Dean.
Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was prevented from performing at the Reunion Rave Concert on the campus of University of Ghana, Legon.
“On Friday, 7th June 2024, we saw an online communique from the Dean of Student Office announcing the cancellation of the event. We contacted the Hall Executives who were responsible for securing the venue per the contract. They assured us that the issues with the Dean of Students had been clarified” the statement hinted.

According to the statement however, they were met with another obstacle as a Delegation from the Dean of Students informed them that the event would have to go on without Shatta Wale.
” A delegation from our team met with the Dean of Students and was informed that the event could proceed but without Shatta Wale’s performance and we adhered just as we were directed”.
Meanwhile, on the same night, bitterest rival of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy was also on campus performing hence people have concluded that Stonebwoy’s presence on campus with Shatta Wale was not security savvy hence the decision to call off Shatta Wale’s performance.
Wave Africa have thus indicated in their press release that they have referred the matter to their legal team and they would be contacting all the various stakeholders.
