The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced a two-day extension to the ongoing voter registration exercise, now scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024.
This decision comes in response to network challenges experienced during the initial days of the registration process. The EC aims to provide ample opportunity for all eligible voters to register ahead of upcoming elections.
In a statement, the Commission expressed its commitment to ensuring that every eligible citizen who wishes to participate in the electoral process has the chance to register.
The extension is part of EC’s efforts to address obstacles that may have prevented individuals from registering earlier.
The EC urges all eligible citizens who have not yet registered to visit the commission’s office in their respective districts to complete the registration process.
The Commission assured that measures are in place to facilitate a smooth registration process during the extended period.
EC has therefore encouraged citizens to take advantage of this additional time to exercise their right to vote.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission urges citizens to rely on its official communication channels for credible information and updates regarding the voter registration exercise.
