Gospel singer Philipa Baafi is supporting her colleague Nacee wholeheartedly in her bid to win Artiste of the Year at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), which are set to take place on Saturday, June 1 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, and other competitors pose a serious threat to Nacee.
But according to the Go High hitmaker, Nacee—whose song Aseda became a huge hit in the year under review—deserves to take home the title of Artiste of the Year because he put in more effort than his competitors throughout the years and went above and beyond for the year under review.
“Now, gospel music has come a long way by the grace of God and I’m not surprised because the likes of Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther and others have made us all proud.

“So it’s no news to me that Nacee who has been working extremely hard earned a deserving spot this year. And I know he will make it big in that category, his song is powerful and got great traction so I am certain he will win the ultimate prize,” he told Graphic Showbiz in a recent interview.
In addition to promoting her most recent release, Eda Ho Pefee, Philipa is getting ready to honor her 25 years in the business later this year.
