DJ Azonto’s management has accused Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-President, of utilizing their song “Fa No Fom” during his campaign in Nalerigu without permission.
In a statement shared on social media, the Rolls Royce Family claims that the Vice-President’s actions constitute a “clear infringement of intellectual property rights.”
Therefore, DJ Azonto and his management are requesting $10 million in compensation from the Vice-President.
“This amount reflects the value of the work and the damages incurred to the artist and management due to its misuse in such a high-profile campaign,” the statement read.
They also cautioned everyone to respect intellectual property rights and copyright regulations.
The Rolls Royce Family added that as long as the correct legal procedures are followed, they are open to working with anyone who want to use their artist’s creations.
They emphasize that any unauthorized use of intellectual property could have been prevented with a straightforward contact to the artist’s management, which would have guaranteed the appropriate and lawful use of their creations.
“We urge Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign team to immediately address this issue and take steps to prevent such oversights in the future,” the Rolls Royce Family stated.

“We also request a fair and timely settlement from Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s team to resolve the unauthorized use of DJ Azonto’s song in a manner that protects and respects the intellectual property rights of the country.”
