Ghanaian rapper Strongman has revealed that the reasons behind the success of his well-known song Transformer are the sacrifices he made, such as going without food for three days.
Speaking on Thursday, May 2, on Anita Akuffo’s Afternoon Show, Strongman said he prayed a lot and sought God’s face in the time leading up to the 2017 release of Transformer.
He clarified that since Transformer was his first song after leaving SarkCess music, he decided to take a spiritual step and ask God for guidance.
“When I was about to release Transformer, I fasted for three days. From 6 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening. It wasn’t easy. Aside Transformer I don’t remember fasting for any song…after the fasting, we just released it and as soon as we dropped it, it was everywhere, the fasting worked,” he said.

Fascinatingly, Strongman stated that although he hasn’t done so because it was difficult, he still prays to God for guidance in his role as a musician.
Strongman, who is well-known for songs like “Children,” “Ohiani Asem,” “Dear God,” “Baby Girl,” “Scar,” and “Shame,” is currently promoting his “God & Rap” EP.
Seven tracks total on the EP, including collaborations with artists including King Paluta, Kweku Darlington, Dope Nation, and Sevenkizs.
